A twelve-panel comic strip entitled “Pacey Pratt the Sabo Cat in My Better Angel is a Tabby” In the first panel six workers in coveralls are seated around a table in a diner drinking coffee, Mattie, Hunter, Nat, Cade, Bella, and Daniela. Mattie says “Until now I had no idea we all get paid different for the same work! They pay me 17.50 an hour—” “And me 17.50—” says Hunter. “Me 16.50,” says Nat. “15.00,” says Cade. “14.50,” says Bella. “14 flat,” says Daniela. In the second panel Daniela slams her fist on the table and says “Dude, what the fuck?” In the third panel the workers are walking up to their job at the Auto Lube. Cade says “We’ll march on the boss as a union and demand we all get twenty bucks an hour!” “But how do we know you’ll stick with us” says Daniela to Hunter. “The boss will say he can’t pay us all, but some can get a little more.” Hunter turns to her and says “I’d never accept it!” In panel four the boss appears with a pop as a devil on Hunter’s shoulder. He grabs Hunters ear and says “Be reasonable—giving everyone a raise will put us all out of business.” Hunter wears a shocked expression. The boss continues “They think you have it so easy, but they don’t know the pressures you’re under. Let’s make a deal!” In panel five Pacey Pratt appears as an angel, with another pop, on Hunter’s other shoulder. The boss devil points to him across Hunter’s face and exclaims “It’s Pacey Pratt—the Sabo Cat!” Hunter looks charmed as the Pacey Angel says “Here’s a question fellow worker—why is the boss race-baiting you?” In panel six Hunter looks pained as he says to the Pacey angel “I know he wants to wreck our union, but if the shop goes under, we all lose.” The Pacey angel has pulled out a harp and says “It seems like the company can always afford the boss’ salaries.”
